Alan H. Farnsworth is corporate vice president and president of The Europe, Middle East and Africa Region, responsible for the commercial operations of all Bausch & Lomb businesses in the region. He was named to this post in 2001.
Mr. Farnsworth joined Bausch & Lomb in 1988 as vice president Business Development for the former International Division. He has held positions including vice president Marketing and president Lens Care in the former Personal Products division. He was named staff vice president Corporate Development in 1996 and corporate vice president Business Development in 1997. He became corporate vice president and president Pharmaceuticals/Europe in 2000.
Prior to joining Bausch & Lomb, Mr. Farnsworth held a variety of senior operating and general management positions with Schlegel Corporation, a privately held manufacturer of industrial goods.
Mr. Farnsworth was born in Albion, N.Y., in September 1952. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Rochester and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell University School of Law, Ithaca, N.Y.
Mr. Farnsworth is a member of the board of trustees of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness/Vision 2020. |
